How much does Mobile POS cost?

Mobile POS is £20 a month plus VAT, per organisation — one subscription covers your whole business, not each till or shop. A owner running three branches pays £20 a month in total. There is a 3-month free trial first, with no card required.

What happens to my data when the free trial ends?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is deleted when the 3-month trial ends. The account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, look up past sales and repair jobs, and export your data, but you cannot take new transactions until you subscribe. If you decide not to continue, the data is kept for 3 months and then permanently deleted.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No. Mobile POS is monthly rolling with no minimum term and no notice period — cancel whenever you like and the subscription runs to the end of the month you have paid for. There is no setup fee and no cut of your takings.

Do I need special hardware or a card terminal?

Accepted Answer

No. Mobile POS runs in a browser on a tablet or laptop you already own, and we do not sell hardware or require you to lease any. Standard USB or Bluetooth barcode scanners and receipt printers work if you want them.

Can I import my existing stock?

Yes. Prepare your stock as a spreadsheet and import it with field mapping, so your existing columns do not have to match ours. Phones, accessories and other stock can all be brought in before you go live.

How long does it take to get started?

You can be selling the same day. Signing up takes a couple of minutes, and the only thing required before the till works is your shop name. Stock, staff accounts and settings can be added as you go, and the 3-month trial is the complete product so nothing is held back.

How does IMEI stock tracking work?

Each handset is tracked as its own stock item against its IMEI, rather than as a quantity of a model. That means two iPhone 13s bought at different prices and conditions stay separate, each with its own cost, price and history from buy-in to sale.

How do trade-ins and buy-backs work?

Buying a handset over the counter is recorded as its own transaction: seller details and ID, a condition grade, and what you paid. The handset then becomes saleable stock tracked by IMEI, so the margin is visible when it sells.

Can I restrict what my staff can see and do?

Yes. Each staff member gets their own login, and role permissions control which parts of the system they can open and change. A cashier can be given the till without access to financial reports, supplier costs or customer records.

Yes, and it costs no more — the £20 a month plus VAT covers every shop in the business. Each shop keeps its own stock, staff and takings, and an owner can switch between them or see them together.

Can it handle the VAT Margin Scheme for second-hand phones?

Yes. Mobile POS keeps the purchase price and sale price together for each handset, so the margin is recorded against the unit rather than reconstructed later, and invoices under the scheme are produced in the required form. Confirm the treatment for your business with your accountant.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The till keeps working. Sales are queued locally on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns, so a short broadband outage does not stop the counter.

Can I get my data out?

Accepted Answer

Yes, at any time, including during the read-only period after a trial or cancellation. Your products, sales, repair jobs, customers and financial records are yours and can be exported to a spreadsheet.

Is my shop’s data kept separate from other shops?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every business’s data is isolated at the database level rather than by application code alone, so one shop cannot read another’s records even in the event of a bug in the app. Access within your own shop is controlled by the role permissions you set.
