How does IMEI stock tracking work?
Each handset is tracked as its own stock item against its IMEI, rather than as a quantity of a model. That means two iPhone 13s bought at different prices and conditions stay separate, each with its own cost, price and history from buy-in to sale.
This is the difference between phone-shop stock and ordinary retail stock. Five identical t-shirts are interchangeable; five used iPhone 13s are not — they differ in condition, battery health, what you paid, and who you bought them from.
Because each unit is individually tracked, you can scan or search an IMEI and see its whole history: when it came in, what it cost, any repair work, and what it eventually sold for.
